>>The Cultural Association ANAKARA, which has been active for the past two years in Lixouri, offers a diverse range of cultural activities and events at the multipurpose space it has created in the former Vallianos Vocational School premises, including film screenings, theatrical and musical performances, and workshops of creative engagement of all kinds for all ages, free of charge.
>>By a document from the Mayor of Lixouri dated 22/4/24 (ref. no. 2881), we were called upon to vacate 2 out of the 3 spaces where the association operates within 10 days and consequently drastically reduce our offerings to the public.
The next day, Tuesday 23/4/24, we made a collective intervention at the Lixouri Municipal Council, and with the massive support of members and friends of the association as well as municipal councilors, we managed to revoke the contentious document.
>>However, the events at the Municipal Council meeting leave us with the conviction that our presence in the space is precarious. Our eviction from one activity space was merely postponed, while our long-term presence at the central multipurpose space of ANAKARA is also at stake.
>>For the above reasons, we invite all of you to an open dialogue, on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 7:00 p.m., at the ANAKARA premises.
